Pennsylvania Launches Grant Program to Boost Meat Processing Industry

Pennsylvania has introduced a grant program to support the development and expansion of meat and poultry processing facilities across the state. The initiative, announced by Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding, allocates $500,000 for reimbursements to new or existing processors, with a maximum grant of $100,000 per applicant. This program aims to meet the growing demand for local foods, shorten supply chains, and enhance food sustainability. Applications are open until August 2.

“Pennsylvanians are increasingly seeking local farms,” Redding noted. More details on the Very Small Meat and Poultry Processing Reimbursement Grant Program can be found here.
