Happy to report the first edition of 2021 was sent to press earlier this week.
What makes it even more special it marks the 25th anniversary for publishing Prairie Hog Country, yes originally started as Prairie Hog Report but the same passion and dedication goes into each and every edition getting ready for press. To keep you the producers informed.
The cover features some previous covers from years gone by, including the very first edition. The cake in the middle was made for me by my youngest son Scott’s fiancé, Shyleen. Complete with a laser etched sign with the logo and fresh flowers as part of the decorations.
Included in the pages of this issue is some more coverage from SASK Pork Symposium, follow up from Banff Pork Seminar, the new Carbon tax, forward contracting opportunities, disease forecasting and control, a hard look at producers needing to be paid fairly, Andrew Dickson shares some highlights from his career at MP. Plus much much more. In honour of reaching the milestone of 25 years in publishing the contest in this edition are 25 questions at looking back at stories that have appeared in issues over the years. The February/March edition will be in the hands of Canada Post February 5th, on the same day the on line version will also be updated.
Thanks so much for past, present and future support. Look forward to serving you for many years to come.
Stay safe and stay healthy,
Laurie Brandly
