The Illinois Pork producers Association marked a milestone with 1 million pounds of pork given to food banks since 2008, the organization noted in a news release. Called the Pork Power: Partnering to Fight Hunger in Illinois campaign, the cumulative donations represent more than 3.3 million servings throughout the state. The goal was reached when Turasky Meats donated more than 8,900 pounds of pork to the Central Illinois Food Bank in Springfield.
