DNA Genetics Launches “Inside the Helix”

DNA Genetics recently launched “Inside the Helix,” a podcast designed for people representing all sectors of the pork industry. This bi-weekly podcast will cover important topics that matter to its listeners, from genetic progress all the way to meat quality.

“I think everyone on our team is excited for this podcast series,” said Kurtis Harms, director of marketing with DNA Genetics and host of the new podcast. “Team member participation has been great. I’m constantly amazed by all the research, innovation and animal care practices that are being improved upon each and every day here at DNA Genetics. I think I speak for our entire team when I say this podcast will be a fun way to help share this content with people passionate about improving the pork industry.”

“Inside the Helix” launched Wednesday, April 5, 2023, with three episodes focused on nurse sow strategy, starting nursery pigs and feed biosecurity. A new episode will be released every other Tuesday at 7:00 a.m. CT. In addition to the scheduled podcast, broken down segments and soundbites will be regularly released through DNA Genetics’ Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn social media platforms.

“In the past, we would attend trade shows and meetings and visit with a good majority of the pork industry at key times throughout the year,” said Sarah Pillen, co-CEO of DNA Genetics. “Digital communication technologies have really helped supplement these in-person events. Although nothing will ever replace the value of face-to-face conversations, this new podcast will allow us to share information on a much more consistent basis.”

“Inside the Helix” can be found on all major podcasting platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Google Podcasts. Each episode is approximately 15-20 minutes in length and follows an interview format.
