PigTek’s FORMULA 542® Manure Pit Additive is a scientifically formulated, multi-enzyme blend that reduces organic solids, foaming and crusting. It also reduces problem odors by up to 90 percent.
While other pit additives are microbial based, Formula 542 is the first to use enzymes. These enzymes feed the existing microbes in the manure, so they can digest solids more quickly. In addition to reducing odor, solids, crusting and foaming, Formula 542 lowers ammonia and hydrogen sulfide emissions. Also, the fly population is reduced because they have nowhere to lay eggs.
Formula 542 is a customized solution, since the dosage may vary from one farm to another based on feed rations and other factors. PigTek dealers can advise producers on the appropriate application rates to help ensure success.
