AAMP Honors ‘Outstanding Service’ and More at Annual Convention

The American Association of Meat Processors (AAMP) presented three of its most prestigious awards during its annual convention held in Omaha from August 1-3.

Kerres USA was honored with the “F.W. Witt Supplier of the Year” award. An active member of AAMP, Kerres USA has been recognized for its significant contributions to the organization and its state affiliates. The company is noted for its generous sponsorships and support of seminars and other activities aimed at benefiting small processors.

Dianne Handsaker, the executive secretary for both the Illinois Association of Meat Processors and the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors, received the “2024 Outstanding Service” award. Handsaker was praised for her extensive knowledge of the meat industry and her leadership since 2005. Her efforts have significantly grown the membership of the associations she serves. AAMP Executive Director Chris Young highlighted her nearly 20 years of dedicated service in Illinois and Wisconsin as the basis for this well-deserved recognition.

Rick and Carolyn Leiding of Leiding’s Meats and Catering in Danville, Illinois, were awarded the association’s “Achievement Award.” Since its opening in 1997, Leiding’s Meats and Catering has been distinguished for its commitment to innovation and quality. The Leidings have been recognized for their continuous efforts in experimenting with new flavors and techniques, creating exceptional products that stand out in the industry.
