Iowa Pork Producers Revive Popular NIL Campaign with Cyclone Football Stars for 2024 Season

The Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA) is bringing back its viral “Purchase Moore Hamann Bacon” promotion for the 2024 season, featuring Iowa State Cyclone football players in a fun and engaging campaign. Following the success of last year’s promotion, which captured national attention and millions of views across social media, the IPPA has renewed its NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) agreement with several Cyclone athletes, adding new faces to the mix.

The 2023 campaign quickly became a fan favorite, with Cyclone players Myles Purchase, Tyler Moore, Tommy Hamann, and Caleb Bacon leading the charge to encourage fans to purchase more pork products. The campaign’s catchy tagline and entertaining videos resonated with audiences, earning it the title of “Best NIL Deal of 2023” by the Sports Business Journal.

This year, the IPPA is building on that momentum with a fresh series of episodic videos. The first episode, titled “Goodbye, Tommy,” launched on August 26 and features the original cast with one notable change: Tommy Hamann has decided to leave the Iowa State football program to focus on his engineering studies. His departure sets the stage for the remaining players—Purchase, Moore, Bacon, Alec Cook, and Zach Lovett—to navigate the next chapter of the campaign.

Over the next seven weeks, new episodes will be released every Monday at 10 a.m., featuring additional Cyclone students auditioning to join the campaign. The series will conclude on October 7, just in time for National Pork Month, affectionately dubbed “Porktober.”

In addition to promoting pork, the campaign is making a meaningful impact on local communities. The IPPA will donate $1,000 worth of pork to a food pantry chosen by each participating student-athlete. This year’s donations will go to organizations across several states, including the Food Bank of the Rockies in Denver, Colo., and Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, among others.

The success of last year’s campaign not only boosted the profiles of the players involved but also highlighted the positive influence of NIL partnerships. “Since we did the first ‘Purchase Moore Hamann Bacon’ photo almost a year ago, there’s a lot more publicity to all our names,” said Caleb Bacon, one of the campaign’s returning stars and a key player for the Cyclones.

As the 2024 football season kicks off, fans can follow the “Purchase Moore Hamann Bacon” videos on the IPPA’s social media channels, where the fun continues to unfold. With its blend of humor, community support, and a strong focus on promoting pork, this campaign is set to captivate audiences once again.
