Brazilian Pork Exports Surge by 73% in September, Surpassing 120,000 Tons

Cooking. Raw meat on the table

Brazil’s pork exports experienced a significant increase in September 2024, growing by 73% compared to the same period last year. The volume of pork exports exceeded 120,000 tons, marking the second-highest result in the history of the country’s monthly pork exports.

This surge reflects Brazil’s increasing competitiveness in the global pork market, driven by strong demand from key markets such as China, Hong Kong, and Chile. The revenue from pork exports grew even faster than the volume, highlighting improved pricing and favorable international market conditions.

Ricardo Santin, President of the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), credited the impressive growth to Brazil’s consistent investment in animal health and production efficiency. These efforts have helped Brazilian pork meet the growing global demand for high-quality protein.

As Brazil continues to strengthen its position as a leading pork exporter, the swine industry will play a pivotal role in supporting the country’s economic growth, particularly through trade with its international partners.
