The Southwestern Ontario Pork Producers Conference, usually held in late February at the Ridgetown campus of the University of Guelph, will be sitting out another year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The conference was last held on Feb. 19, 2020.
The conference usually attracts pork producers and representatives of the industry in Ontario to the Ridgetown campus where discussion in the past has attracted guest speakers from Ontario, the United States and Europe.
According to its website, the Ontario Pork Producers Marketing Board, or Ontario Pork, represents 1,143 farmers who market 5.8 million hogs in Ontario.
Ontario Pork says the industry generations roughly $2.8 billion in economic value.
