Iowa Select Farms is the largest privately-owned hog production company in the world and headquartered in Iowa Falls, Iowa. The company was founded in 1992 by Jeff and Deb Hansen and today has 242,000 sows. Iowa Select Farms has over 800 farms in more than 50 counties throughout Iowa and employs or contracts work with 1,850 Iowans.
In 2006, the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation was established. The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation operates unique programs and projects that provide food to struggling Iowa families and children, shows gratitude to members of the armed forces and strengthens efforts to find a cure for childhood cancers while improving the quality of life for impacted families. The foundation raises millions of dollars a year in donations and runs programs throughout 124 Iowa communities and across the state.
Every year, the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation has a Spring Gala that takes place in Des Moines, Iowa with the purpose of raising money for causes. The Spring Gala typically has around 500 invited attendees that range from pork industry people, military personnel, and Iowa leaders, etc. The Spring Gala raises millions of dollars each year and proceeds go towards causes including hunger relief, child and family support, military and childhood cancer.
