AMVC, the ninth largest pork producer in the United States, and Bretanha, the leading swine reproductive company in Brazil, today announced they will form a strategic partnership called Bretanha – AMVC Management Services.
This new business combines AMVC’s knowledge and experience in swine management and Bretanha’s breeding and reproduction expertise to create a comprehensive swine management company focused on bringing innovation and efficiency to Brazil’s swine producers.
“We are excited to partner with Bretanha to bring proven management strategies to the Brazilian swine market,” said Dr. Steve Schmitz, veterinarian, and managing partner at AMVC. “For 30 years, AMVC has professionally raised pigs, offering producers effective solutions to improve operations and overall animal wellbeing. As we expand into a new market, we are proud to partner with a company equally committed to providing long-term value to swine producers and the swine industry.”
The companies plan to share resources and leverage each other’s strengths to provide Brazilian swine producers with a progressive system approach to pork production and innovative reproductive technologies.
“Bretanha’s vision is to be a leader in swine reproduction by creating innovative management strategies to improve reproductive performance in swine,” Said Pedro Ivo de Quadros Filho, owner of Bretanha. “This joint venture supports our goal to continuously grow and improve Brazilian pig farms and provides opportunities to increase our presence in our key markets.”
