Giving Back: Highlights from Cooper Farms, JBS Ottumwa, and Seaboard Triumph

Cooper Farms Supports Communities with Over $1.4 Million in Donations
Ohio’s Cooper Farms made significant contributions to combat food insecurity and support local initiatives in 2024. Donations included $658,603 in meat, liquid, and shell eggs to area food banks, $250,000 to the Boy Scouts of America, and over $800,000 to local organizations, students, and community projects. Since its establishment in 2002, the Cooper Family Foundation has provided more than $8 million in funding. COO Gary Cooper shared, “Giving back is our way of expressing gratitude to the communities and team members who have supported us.”

JBS Ottumwa Celebrates Employee and Family Graduations
Seventeen JBS team members and their children graduated from Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa, through the company’s Better Futures tuition reimbursement program. The initiative, launched in 2021, has enrolled 148 participants in Ottumwa alone, with 32 graduates so far. Companywide, more than 2,600 individuals have enrolled, with over 200 graduates to date, helping employees pursue higher education at no cost.

Seaboard Triumph Launches Tuition Support Program
Seaboard Triumph Foods has partnered with Buena Vista University to offer tuition assistance to employees and their families. Full-time employees at the company’s pork processing facility and eligible family members can receive tuition discounts and grant funding for programs at BVU’s Storm Lake campus or its online undergraduate and graduate programs.

These initiatives highlight the commitment of key industry players to support their employees and communities.
