The Illinois Pork Producers Association has announced the launch of its first-ever Illinois Pork Industry Group (IL PIG) program, starting on October 10, 2024. This six-week program is designed to help Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) students deepen their understanding of Illinois’ swine industry. Participants will explore topics such as commercial pork production, agricultural advocacy, and career opportunities.
The nine selected students are Taylor Armstrong, Nathan Brown, Alaina Ford, JoBeth Matli, Alexis McCarty, Kassie Ortberg, Avery Pope, Bailey Shields, and Jordan Shields. Each session includes expert-led discussions, tours, and networking opportunities, with a $300 scholarship awarded upon completion.
