Introducing University of Wisconsin-Madison Division Extension’s Swine Outreach Specialist

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension is excited to introduce Jeff Morris as the new Swine Outreach Specialist.  Jeff will identify needs and incorporate research findings into high-quality outreach education programs around critical swine production issues to support the improvement and advancement of Wisconsin’s swine industry.

Wisconsin may be known as the dairy state, but ties to swine production in Wisconsin run deep. Historically, 80% of Wisconsin farmers raised pigs. While modern swine production looks different, over 350,000 hogs and pigs contribute to Wisconsin’s current diverse agricultural landscape.

Jeff resides in Lone Rock, WI, and has been extensively involved in the swine industry over his career including leadership roles in Wisconsin Pork Association, Wisconsin Show Pig Association, and Certified Pedigreed Swine.  Jeff received his Bachelor’s Degree from Purdue University in Agricultural Economics and has a vast history of supporting swine producers throughout his career.

Jeff started his new role as a statewide outreach specialist on July 18th. He will work with partner organizations and constituents to develop and deliver educational programs for Wisconsin’s swine industry.  Please feel free to contact Jeff; he can be reached directly via email jeff.morris@wisc.edu  or phone 608-346-9561.
