Last week, members of the UC Davis CLEAR Center joined the National Pork Board’s Swine Education and Outreach Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, to discuss key challenges and opportunities within the swine industry. This event brought together experts and students to address pressing topics such as animal health, consumer trust, and the economic factors shaping pork production today.
The UC Davis team included Director of Swine Research Dr. Yanhong Liu, Associate Director for Communications Joe Proudman, and graduate students Briana Morales, David Zhao, Sangwoo Park, and Sebastian Lobo. Their active participation demonstrated the CLEAR Center’s dedication to supporting the swine industry through cutting-edge research, open dialogue, and outreach initiatives that build bridges between science and consumer understanding.
This gathering was a pivotal opportunity for industry leaders to collaborate on improving public perceptions of pork production and reinforcing the importance of sustainability within the sector. By fostering connections and sharing knowledge, the UC Davis CLEAR Center continues to play a significant role in advancing the swine industry’s commitment to transparency and sustainable practices.
