The California Pork Producers Association (CPPA) has announced Mackenzie Bressler as its new executive director, effective February 3, 2025. Bressler will lead the association’s efforts to support California pork producers, advocate for the industry, and enhance outreach efforts across the state.
Bressler, a Colusa, California native, has a strong background in communications, association management, and agricultural outreach. She previously served as external relations director at Chico State’s College of Agriculture and worked as a digital marketing manager at Farmers Communications Exchange. Her experience in strategic communication and industry engagement positions her well to take CPPA’s leadership to the next level.
Passion for Agriculture and Pork Industry Growth
Growing up involved in 4-H and FFA, Bressler’s connection to agriculture runs deep. She pursued her passion further by earning a bachelor’s degree in agricultural communications from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to work alongside California’s pork producers, represent the industry, and strengthen our connections with industry stakeholders,” Bressler said. “Pork plays an important role in both nutrition and the state’s economy, and I look forward to driving awareness and advocacy efforts.”
California’s Role in the Pork Industry
While California represents less than 1% of U.S. pork production, its consumers account for about 13% of total U.S. pork consumption—a significant market for the industry. CPPA, which has been active since the 1950s, introduced the executive director role in 2021 to provide state-level leadership and strengthen advocacy for pork producers.
Under Bressler’s leadership, CPPA is expected to expand its impact, strengthen producer representation, and enhance engagement with consumers, policymakers, and the next generation of agricultural leaders.
