Cheryl Walsh, a fourth-generation producer from Princeville, Illinois, was announced as the 2024 President of the Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA) during their annual meeting. Walsh owns and operates Cowser Inc., a comprehensive agricultural enterprise in Peoria County, encompassing a sow farm, hay production, and a cow-calf operation. She is also involved with Cowser Field & Feedlot, a sister company focused on growing corn and soybeans, contributing to the feed for the sow operation.
Walsh, known as “The Peoria County Pig Lady” in Ag in the Classroom, is actively engaged in various agricultural initiatives. Her involvement extends to the Peoria County Farm Bureau, where she serves as a township director and participates in several local committees.
This marks Walsh’s second term as an at-large director on the IPPA board, where she most recently chaired the marketing committee. She emphasizes the benefits of her board service, highlighting the connections made with legislators, educators, and industry professionals. Walsh takes pride in being a voice for all producers.
