Hendrix Genetics and BHZP Renew Their Pork Partnership

Hendrix Genetics, a global multi-species animal breeding company, and BHZP, Germany’s largest pig breeding company, are pleased to announce the renewal of their distribution agreement for DB77 boars. This renewed five-year agreement will further strengthen their collaboration to meet the growing demand for DB77 boars in the Spanish and Portuguese markets.

This agreement extends the initial agreement signed in 2019, which established Hendrix Genetics as the distributor of this BHZP boar line to strategic customers in the Iberian Peninsula.

Sales of DB77 boars have significantly increased since their introduction by Hendrix Genetics in 2019 BHZP General Managers Hartmut Geerink and Dr. Stephan Welp expressed their enthusiasm regarding this agreement extension: “This partnership also reopens the opportunity to expand production into key markets like Spain and Portugal. Working with Hendrix Genetics has opened up our international markets, as they operate globally and have appropriate organizational and human resource structures in place.” Since 2019 we also successfully introduced the DB77 boars with Hendrix Genetics in Belgium.

Jose Maria Requejo, General Manager of Hendrix Genetics Spain for Swine, stated, “For our customers, this renewal brings improved availability of these top boars within the Spanish territory. With the DB77 boar from BHZP, customers receive a finishing product that meets the highest standards in feed conversion, carcass criteria, and meat quality.”

Jeroen van de Camp, Area Director Europe Swine for Hendrix Genetics, added, “Ensuring we can deliver products at all times and at the highest biosecurity standards is key to our clients’ success. Collaboration is essential, and ultimately, this pact allows both companies to achieve more together than they ever could alone. We are convinced our clients will reap the rewards.”
