Paul Faris Joins DNA Genetics’ Technical Services Team

DNA Genetics is pleased to announce the addition of Paul Faris to its Technical Services team. Faris joined the company in early-August and adds a wealth of production experiences to DNA Genetics. Throughout his career, which expands over three decades, Faris has worked in numerous capacities within the pork industry, from farm management and logistics to sales.

“Paul has been a tremendous asset to our Technical Services team so far, and we’re excited for the future,” said John Sonderman, director of technical services with DNA Genetics. “At DNA Genetics, we strive to exceed all expectations in areas of animal health, genetic programs and customer and technical services. Based on Paul’s extensive experience within the swine industry, he’s diving right in and will only improve the customer experience. We’re glad to have him on board.”

Faris graduated from the University of Missouri in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. After college, he joined JBS Pork (formerly Cargill Pork) as a technical services manager and was with the company for 23 years. In this role, he successfully launched a 27,000-sow system through collaboration with farm managers and genetic suppliers. He also collected and analyzed diagnostic information and executed research trials of veterinary products, feed ingredients and production practices all to improve herd health. Following his work at JBS Pork, he worked for three years as a national swine sales specialist with Purina Animal Nutrition where he consistently worked with current and potential customers to improve company initiatives. Most recently before joining DNA Genetics, Faris was a swine account manager with Novus International where he continued to interact with customers to build business relationships and provided pork production consultations.

“Most of my life has been devoted to the pork production industry,” said Faris. “It’s easy to stick with a career for so long when it’s something you truly enjoy doing. I’ve been grateful throughout my life to be able to work in such a great sector, and I’m happy to be with the team and meet the customers of DNA Genetics. The motto of the company is ‘focused on what matters,’ which is a statement that resonates with me immensely. What has always mattered to me is helping bring pork to the world’s table and doing it through quality animal care and amazing people that share a common passion.”

Faris resides in Concordia, Missouri, with his wife, Betty. The couple have two grown children, Russell and Nora.
